Celebration of Life Pet Photography in New Jersey

As a New Jersey pet photographer specializing in heartfelt, end-of-life dog photography, I’ve had the honor of documenting some of the most meaningful moments between pets and their people. Recently, I photographed Scooter and Elena’s final sunset together. This was a session that reminded me why compassionate pet photography matters so deeply. It was such an honor to witness the love between them and document beautiful moments that will be cherished forever.

This session got me thinking about the loss of my girl, Dakota. Dakota was my soul dog who was with me through so many changes in my life. Our love knew no bounds. When cancer took her, I was absolutely devastated. I kept begging for “five more minutes,” but eventually she had to leave.

Dakota’s Rainbow Project

I’m proud to announce a project in her name called Dakota’s Rainbow Project where I offer a limited number of portrait sessions per month, free of charge, to families with terminally ill dogs.

The name of the project is Dakota’s Rainbow Project in honor of my late black Labrador, Dakota. She was fiercely loyal, the sweetest couch hog, lover of all food, and best sidekick I could have ever asked for. Dakota was with me during some of my best and worst moments of my adult life to date.

Sweet Dakota was diagnosed with cancer less than a year before she died and I know all too well the rollercoaster ride is for families. The last year of her life was a flurry of doctor’s appointments, treatments, progress, setbacks and ultimately, heartache.

Compassionate Pet Photography

When Dakota got sick, I tried to document our time as best as I could. My one regret is not hiring a photographer to document the time for us. I wish I would have been able to just be with her in front of the camera and have someone follow along in the background to capture our love.

I would love to be that person for you and your furry best friend.

In Dakota’s memory, I am offering one free session per quarter** to terminally ill dogs and their families.

If you are interested in setting up a session, please contact me for more information so we can discuss the details.
