Dakota’s Rainbow Project
A while back, I had the honor of photographing Scooter and Elena during their last sunset together. It was one of those sessions that stays with you—quiet, tender, full of love. Documenting those moments reminded me so deeply of my own loss, of saying goodbye to my sweet black Lab, Dakota.
Dakota was my girl. Fiercely loyal, the gentlest couch hog, lover of all snacks, and my constant sidekick through some of the hardest and happiest seasons of my adult life. When she was diagnosed with cancer, our days turned into a blur of vet visits, treatments, hopeful progress, heartbreaking setbacks… and eventually, goodbye.

What Is Dakota’s Rainbow Project?
Dakota’s Rainbow project is a photo session I provide free of charge. No tricks, no gimmicks, no upsells. Just you, your pup, and some photos to help you preserve your precious memories.
During our final year together, I tried to capture as much as I could—but I often found myself wishing someone else could’ve stepped in, just for an hour or two. Someone to quietly document our bond while I simply was with her. No distractions. Just us.
That’s what I hope to offer now—for you and your best friend.
How Do I Qualify for a Photo Session?
Each month, I’m offering one complimentary session for families with terminally ill dogs—an opportunity to capture the love, connection, and joy that still exists, even in the hardest moments.
- Open to families within 30 miles of Cedar Grove, NJ
- One session per month available at no cost
- Must have a terminally ill dog to qualify
If you’re walking this road—or know someone who is—please reach out. I’d be honored to help you hold onto these memories in a way that feels gentle, beautiful, and real.
